Rules

Welcome to FurWars' Rules. In here you'll find all the necesary for your entry, about the systems of the tournament and all you'll need to participate.

1.    There are only 16 places in the roster. So it’s all a matter of who inscribes first.
2.    Each contestant is allowed to submit ONLY ONE CHARACTER. Due to the nature of the prize it wouldn’t be fare if one user alone wins two or the three prizes. So ONLY ONE CHARACTER PER USER.
3.    A requisite for the entry is to be watching Dracolicoi on FA.
4.    You must post a Journal allowing your watchers to know about the tournament (Spread the voice! Go on!)
5.    You must give two pictures of your fursona: One in battle pose and one on a poster-like pose, similar to the ones you may see in fighting videogames, for the final prize (Not only for the first place but for all the contestants).
6.    Referent to those pictures:
a.    The fighting pose picture must be delivered in transparency as a .png or .psd file, done in RGB colors. Also, they must be reversible (either look the same way looking from left than looking from right since you don’t know which side of the “screen” you’ll be.
b.    The poster pose picture must be also delivered in transparency as a .png or .psd file, yet, this one must be done in CMYK at 300 dpi since It will be needed for an impression quality file that is the poster of the tournament.
c.    The picture for the battle must be at between at most 2000 px tall since that’s the tall size of the arenas. BUT, rather draw smaller than that since I’ll have to adjust the image anyways so it fits and goes with the background effects and size of other characters.
The contestants should make sure that people know of the tournament (This applies also to the spectators that don’t want to enter or couldn’t make the cut in the first 16 challengers).

For the means of this tournament, the images I’m asking you will have to be delivered to me via e-mail at dracolicoi@hotmail.com. Obviously by sending me the mail there, I’ll have your e-mail, so if you win, then I’ll send there your prize (the poster since the commissions I’ll post them on FA).

1.    First of all… The roster with the order of the battles will be posted so you know who you’re fighting in the first round. From there you can figure out your next opponents staying tuned with the outcome of the other battles.
2.    The decision for the winning will not be only by popularity. I ask you to inform your friends about the tournament but I also ask you to tell them to be free to vote.
3.    There won’t be tolerance for secondary account users. This meant to be the fairest of the fairest, so using a secondary account will be denied resulting (If was the fighter in turn the one using it) in automatic lose.
4.    Each challenger must make a story detailing the battle with his own winning. These stories will posted by me so they will have to be delivered prior the encounter so I add them in the comment. What means it must be at most one page of word so it can be a brief reading for the voters. The deliver should come via Note or as a .doc/.docx file via e-mail.
5.    The battles will be up for two days (The day posted and one more) for voting. What means each third day a new battle will be posted (The first round will be already done before the tournament starts so don’t worry about delays).
6.    Users that have their turn to fight cannot vote in that battle. It's up for the others. besides their "vote" come from their story winning. But it will be kept neutral.
7.    There won’t be any “Dig your own tomb”. As stated in the entry rules, there won’t be any “losing pose” or noting… I won’t be exhibiting the losers but actually inviting them to my spectator balcony.
8.    After each battle I’ll delete the contestant’s story and will write another one from my own point of view using the stories from both fighters as inspiration. At the end I’ll make a whole story using those to describe the whole tournament with the conclusion and the extras that will be explained later.
9.    The votes will be counted by me and Dave Wolfox (Wolfan-FoxD). What means neither he nor I will be in the tournament as “playable characters” but only as spectators of the rounds (Neither he or I will be voting so feel safe that I won’t be letting my opinion blur the one of others. This tournament must remain legal at any measure).
10. Every voter must submit his or her vote giving a brief explanation or analysis of why they gave their vote to certain contestant.
11. By any means, I won’t be accepting people to try to change the votes of others.
12. There are no second thoughts. Once you voted you cannot change your mind so take the decision wisely.

1.    The battle stats are divided in six:

Power: the amount of physical strength the character has. Of this depends how powerful and devastating the physical attacks might be.

Speed: How fast the character can move and dodge. It shall be also related with the weight of the character. A big and heavy guy cannot move that fast.
Intelligence: Related to magical attacks and adaptability capacity. This stat has relevance to how much magic capacity the character have or how fast it can adapt to the environment. It must be explained in the character description which field goes more for his intelligence: Magic or Adaptability.
Awareness: The response capacity of the character. This stat makes reference to how fast the character will and can react to the upcoming attacks or the effects of the stage in which he/she is fighting.
Physical Endurance (Ph-Endurance): How much can the character endure physically. Depending on this it will be the defense for the hand to hand attacks or weapons. A character without armor can have a good ph-endurance, but an armored character will have a superior one costing him his speed. Normally, a character with high power will have more Ph-Endurance while a character with more magical intelligence will have less of it.
Magical Endurance (Mg-Endurance): How much the character can endure magically. From it depends how much can resist a magical attack from any element. A character with high magical intelligence will have a superior Mg-Endurance and low Ph-Endurance. A character with more physical power will have less Mg-Endurance and high Ph-Endurance.
2.    Elements: Some characters have certain attribute. These are divided in nine elements, but none of them mean to have an advantage over the others. Also, each character can have up to a combination of two of the nine elements.
3.    The stats will be filled with points. Obviously, I’ll be giving each stat a base value of 1, so you can built it from there. Each character will have 15 points to spend in the six stats. Each stat is up to be at maximum of 5 points (4 points from the 15 spend points plus the base point). Take in consideration the physics in here. A heavy character cannot move fast for example.
4.    The battle system for the attacks is a hybrid between Pokémon and Smash bros. Each character will have three normal attacks and a smash attack.
a.    Normal attacks: Each contestant has to specify three attacks for the character. These will be in five orders of damage that will be explained later.
b.    Smash attack: An “ultimate” attack, powerful and capable to make more than just hard damage. But also, only usable once during the battle.
5.    Damage levels: The damage levels are divided in five. The last two can be mixed with the first three:
a.    Light damage: A light attack, does not makes a lot of damage.
b.    Normal damage: A normal attack, this makes enough like a punch in the face.
c.    Hard damage: A heavy attack, this is the equivalent of being hit with a baseball bat in the head for example.
d.    Bludgeoning damage: This kind of damage can be light, normal or hard. It’s dealt with smashing things like fists and paws/feet. The common damage done is this.
e.    Piercing damage: This kind of damage is light or normal. Does not pierce deadly but it does with armor and that.
6.    Some attacks might be up to cause secondary effects (special conditions) or fail if used at range or at close distance depending on the character skills. This percentage must be added to the description of the attack in the following form after the description of the attack: “Wild dive: Flies up high in the sky and dives with a powerful punch or kick that inflicts hard damage. 50% Accuracy.” Or “Crimson bolt: inflicts Thunder normal damage. 30% chance of Paralysis.
7.    For a need in the space of the layout, the attack description must not exceed two lines of word. This includes the percentage of fail and success. In the case the attack has a large description focus more on what it does in a few words: “Inflicts elemental damage”, “Mace of the winds: Hits the opponent with a spinning kick”. Don’t go detailing too much the attack: “Jumps in the sky and then once in the air swings a heavy mace over his head making a tornado that when lands raises a cloud of dust that blinds the opponent allowing her to slam him dealing hard damage with the chance of paralysis. 30% chance of Paralysis.
8.    For the stories, by no motive a character can kill the other. There are no deaths in this tournament. If this happens the character posting that “killing” story will be losing automatically.
9.    Special conditions: there are six special conditions.
a.    Burnt: The character that gets burnt will have the power reduced by one and will receive from light to moderate damage depending on the Mg-Endurance. Wears off according also to the Mg-Endurance.
b.    Paralysis: A paralyzed character will have the speed reduced by one and have limited movement. Will wore off depending in the Mg-Endurance.
c.    Poisoned: Some characters might use poison, so a poisoned character will have his health going down reducing his speed and power by one. Will wear off depending on the Ph-Endurance.
d.    Confused: A confused character will have a 50% of probabilities to damage self with normal damage. Wears off depending on the intelligence.
e.    Frozen: A frozen character has the speed reduced to 0 and cannot move or attack. Wears off depending on both endurances (Physical to break thru the ice and magical to resist the ice itself).
f.     Asleep: A sleeping character cannot move nor attack unless one of his attacks allows it. Wears off depending on both endurances.
10. Each battle will take place in a special arena that might or might not have penalties and benefits. The arenas will be explained later.

1.    The battles will be judged by two or three referees (Including me) that have to be partial. The other ones will be announced as the entries are closed.
2.    The judgment goes over the stories too. If the story is well detailed and have heavy evidence of the victory of that character will be taken in consideration. (This is up to the voters too).
3.    The referees cannot vote during the battles. Only moderate messages and give warnings in case one of the prior rules is broken (Like trying to change the mind of someone’s vote).
4.    As stated before, trying to change the votes won’t be accepted… YET, discussing (Not flaming, arguing nor fighting over) about the battle is allowed. But try to don’t expose points that might change the mind of others that haven’t yet voted.
5.    If a referee is not doing his work well, just name it and will be reprehended. That includes me. If you see I’m doing something I mustn’t tell. Don’t be afraid of the judges to bane you. We are only servers in this event. Not executioners.
6.    The votes will be taken in deliberation. Of course the votes will be definitive if they are really showing a good reason. The following and some others not listed here won’t be accepted as reasons: “Because he/she is my friend” “Because I was asked to vote” “Because he/she looks sexy”… Please, stick to reasons that make logic in the encounters.

Big Fame and Money… is not what I’ll be offering as part of this tournament. So if you are looking for that, this is not the place for you. The tournament will be held not exactly publically in the story thought the battles will be seen by people in their homes online. The objective in this battle royal is more grown up. After all Fame and Money is not always what is better for a person. The idea for this is… a secret yet. Once the first story comes… you’ll know about it.

Now, for the real world, more than money (What is simply not correct to offer online), as an artist, what I’ll be offering as reward to the winners will be a free commission in different ranks depending on his place (first, second or third.). This will be almost about any theme with certain exceptions. The banned themes are: unwilling enslavement (I’d draw bondage but this unwilling enslavement simply goes against my moral and ethics), Scat, Humiliations, Public humiliation, Murdering and Snuff.
Also, the reason why I’m asking you two poses (fighting and poster) it’s because I’ll make a poster for this tournament. I’ll submit a screen definition version of it to FA so everyone can look at it and save it. But of course, a better quality version will be sent to the top winner.
So, finally here are the prizes!
1.    First place: Full colored, no lines, shaded, background one/two characters free commission. The theme can be chosen and I’ll do it. (If it includes a female I’ll give my best but I promise nothing since I suck at drawing them).  Plus, First place will receive a version of the poster for this tournament. It will be done in Press quality so you’ll be able to take the file and print it so you can have a nice poster in your room.
2.    Second place: Flat color with lines one/two characters free commission (again sorry for my lack on female anatomy mastery but I promise to improve it)
3.    Third place: Clean lines one/two characters free commission.

All the contestants will have access to the poster as stated before. Also, as a matter of fact there will be a fifth reward to the ones that had shown effort and great characters. So don’t take this tournament lightly. The reward will be good… since the fifth reward is a place in my Furry Avenger initiative. I’ll design a badge to give you for that. Not all be able to make the cut there… only a certain group (2-3 maybe and not necessarily will be the three winners). Besides the badge and the place, your character might appear in the stories of the Furry Avengers Universe; either as supportive character for any of the heroes or as part of the second team (Formed in S.W.O.R.D and not S.H.I.E.L.D) that might fight along with the main protagonist of the series.

For the chosen ones to be part of the Furry Avengers Initiative, I’ll explain that in some other part of the net… So, as far as the tournament hasn’t started or finished, you don’t have to worry about that.
